PBB's Bully Issue

Do you still remember the statement made by our Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Dato Sri Awang Tengah Ali Hassan- quoting “Sarawak does not need an act on race relations to prevent racial conflicts as there is no racial problem in the state” It was not long ago that I had blog on the racial issues being an exception to the Land of the Hornbills, different from what has been experienced by the West Malaysians (read up Act On Race Relations In Sarawak? in my September 29, 2008 post)

But now, I believe my nightmare is just about to turn into reality. PBB was suddenly being accused of bullying other component parties in Sarawak? The Former Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) information chief, Baginda Minda recently said that PRS had been bullied by PBB in the past election, and as many would feel that this act is an echoing act to as what the Malaysia Chinese Association (MCA) had said about the United Malay National Organisation (UMNO).

To me personally, PBB might be the biggest political party in Sarawak (of course laaa…since all the Bumiputras name it the Malays, Melanaus, Bidayuhs, Ibans, Kelabit, Kenyah, Kayans, Orang Ulu and many others were united under one group in this party) but this does not mean that PBB is bullying anybody from others parties.

Here I quote an article by Dato’ Peter Minos :
“Everyone in Sarawak can see that PBB has stretched all out to accommodate its political partners in the State BN. This can be seen by the sharing powers, of the giving of ministerial positions among the BN partners and of making decisions that do not hurt anyone”

In his article, he also urged people of Sarawak not to compare PBB with UMNO as he explained that the population pattern in Peninsular is completely different from that in Sarawak, which makes applying the Peninsular political policy wouldn’t work in Sarawak.

So I leave this to all bloggers out there to think wisely before any assumption is made. Lastly, again a profoundly witty quote from Dato’ Peter Minos :

“ People must not compare apples with durians. There are to types of fruits. It does not make sense to compare”
